SOFO Education Partnership
Our After-School children have benefitted greatly from the partnership with SOFO
and the classes in the S.T.E.A.M. fields.
Students explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math thru visits to the museum, outdoor guided nature walks and hands-on workshops at The Center, SOFO, and Innovation Camp (iCAMP).

S.T.E.A.M. enrichment workshops focus on project-based learning. We connect nature observations to the technology tools used to makeobservations, so that
the students better understand the world around them. Steve Phillips, Curriculum Director at iCAMP and STEAM enrichment program instructor, and Melanie Meade, Education and Outreach Coordinator
at SOFO, developed the curriculum together
so that itreflects the use of technology in understanding the natural world. The program is supported by a grant to SOFO from an anonymous donor.
“After school STEAM enrichment classes are a fun and creative way for children to experience project-based learning that connects nature observations to the technology
tools we use to make our observations better and understand the world around us.”
